Politics in Fantasy Football. Do we increase the dues (taxes) to cover league operating cost or do we hold taxes done and reduce services? THIS IS OUTRIGHT BULL**** REDUCE SERVICES I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT STATEMENT. WITH THE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY WE CURRENTY HAVE WE CAN INCREASE SERVICES.. WE CAN HAVE A BIGGER PARTY...WE CAN DO ANYTHING. DO WE REALLY NEED TO PROTECT THE WINNER TAKING HOME A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND GOING TO A BIG PARTY FOR FREE. MIKE TOOK HOME A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY LAST YEAR AND THE 4 GUYS AT THE BOTTOM PAYED FOR HIM TO GO TO THE PARTY. IS THIS WHAT OUR LEAGUE IS ABOUT ( BIG MONEY) IF SO LET ME KNOW NOW. I AM STILL WAITING FOR SOME PHONE CALLS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. BOTTOM LINE ARE WE A BIG MONEY PRIZE PAYOUT LEAGUE OR ARE WE A FRIENDLY FELLOWSHIP LEAGUE.

Here is everything I've heard - I don't know a thing
1. You've read the bulls plan 2. I've heard of a 2 dollar a week increase. 3. I've heard of a 5 dollar a week increase. 4. I've heard no increase until NEXT year. 5. I've heard no increase ever. 6 I've heard other rumors I'll not legitimize by posting.
Some want to do away with prize money. Some want to do away with the year end money. And everyone else is in between.
Some find the prize money excessive others less than rewarding. I don't have an answer nor a reasonable compromise.
I urge all to think of crazy I mean crazy ways of making all happy.
Lord help us
PS - Yes I'm drinking

It's just absolutely plain crazy to even consider the possibility of making all happy. Viewpoints are extremely polarizing. The minority thinks, on any issue and not just dues, they are justified in using ridicule, strong arm tactics, or walk out threats to get their way. It's reprehensible.
It's terribly sad to be ridiculed for wanting to vote your own conscience.
Some may think otherwise, but nobody, and I mean nobody, should fool themselves into thinking they can even remotely ever control how I vote. It's a waste of time.

Energies now might best be spent on thinking of how the increase will be allotted instead of how to prevent it.

I am NOT championing a dues raise by any means. I'm just not opposed to it plain and simple.

Gentlemen,
For next year's party, I'd like to start out at the horses, go to a nice sit-down dinner, and end up at the Improv for a comedy show. At the cut-rate limo price provided by the Redtide, we also wouldn't have to pay for a friend to drive the bus and worry about his comfort. Put all this with my desire to see prize money raised, especially for the lower end, and we cannot do it on 680 credits by any means.
I do not believe for one second that any of us are unable to come up with an extra 17, 34, 51, 68, or 85 more credits per year or some other combination of increased revenue sources to meet what in my heart and soul I'd like to see done. I don't want to go backwards. If increased revenue is enough to make some resign, then I question wether their hearts are in the SEL and really want to play. It's the one day of the year that we go out as a group, so it needs to be good in my opinion.
The question boils down to RIGHT VS. WRONG, the fair and just principle of majority rule, and in essence who runs this league. Are we a democratic fellowship or a league where majority members sacrifice their wishes to appease the threats of a few? It's nothing short of wrong, wrong, wrong and deep down everyone knows it. It would be hard for me to look in the mirror by allowing myself to be coerced in any way, shape, or form and it needs to end.
I deeply respect the beliefs of the minority who don't want to see the dues raised, the minority who wants yardage points added, the minority who doesn't like the waiver wire rule, or the minority who doesn't like the defensive rule. But in these cases you are in the minority and in all fairness ought to accept the will of the majority that is if you consider yourselves to be fair people.
It's B.S. to think it would be the end of the SEL if the dues are raised, and I just don't by it. Hogwash!!

this is not a threat, this is a fact.... if a dues increase is voted in AGAIN on a 5 to 3 vote it will be the end of the league as we now know it, AND ON A PERSONAL NOTE I WILL ADD THAT I THINK IT IS EXTREMLY SELFISH OF THE MAJORITY TO PRICE MEMBERS OUT OF THE LEAGUE, OR IS THAT WHAT THIS IS REALLY ABOUT. WHAT SAY YOU MAJORITY!

STOP!! STOP!! STOP!! This is a mind-boggling, grandstanding ploy and money is not the issue. Nobody's trying in the slightest to price anyone out of anything.
The only thing that hopefully might end is the sad way business is conducted in this league which often involves a massive roadblock at even the attempt to share new ideas where the freedom to express them is coldly discouraged through intimidation, degradation, and outright coercion.
If this league is worth anything, then all members should vote for what they think is right. If it's 5-3, then let it be so. No wonder the SEL owners not named Collins, Bennett, or Jones is NOT receptive to allowing another family member in should a vacancy ever arise. They fear further manipulation which hopefully won't be the case.

This league has survived original founding members leaving and trying to sell their teams to an obscure highest bidder, the incorporation of the franchise players, the discarding of the franchise players, previous dues raises, family members walking down the road, and probably so many other things of which I'm not even aware.
I don't for one microsecond believe it won't survive a projected dues raise. Come on!!

This is nothing new we have disagreed on this forever. So if you disagree your a roadblock. MONEY IS THE ISSUE!!! DISPITE THAT FACT THAT 3 MEMBERS HAVE REPETEDLY STATED THAT WE CAN NOT DEAL WITH HIGHER DUES. SOME OF THIS LEAGUE DO NOT SEEM TO CARE, OR ARE SURELY TRYING TO RUN US OUT OF THIS LEAGUE SO THAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE THIER HIDDEN AJENDAS. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A LEAGUE OF FRIENDS. IT SEEMS PRETTY COLD AND UNCARING TO IGNORE A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF THE LEAGUE WHEN THEY SAY THAT THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM FOR THEM,AND STOP WITH THE FAMILY BULLSHIT LAST TIME I CHECKED I AM NOT RELATED TO THE RATS.
