I hope everyone's on board with the idea of a committee to research ideas and present plans for approval.

Hello fellow SEL members, tis the beginning of another enjoyable football season. I would like to let everyone know where I stand on the issue of a dues raise of 5 credits. I vote YES, thats because I personally can afford it. But I will vote NO if it is going to be a hardship for any member of this league. I don't know the financial status of everyone but can offer any assistance to anyone that may need it. Talking with other members of the league they too are willing to help with any finance. I agree with the rebels that a increase is way past due (years in fact), after reading all the posts Its don't seem to me that the credits is the problem, its how we use them. Limo's Tittie joints, Gambling houses or comedy clubs it does not really matter to me or any of us as long as we all agree on what we are all comfortable with. We have a season of 20 some weeks to try and satisfy how me can use our credits for all to enjoy, no matter what we as a GROUP decide. What I would like to know is who is for and who is against so we can hash out the differances is a civil manner. I don't like using this format as a way of communicating with each other. I personally feel it way to impersonal, and some of us take it way out of context. I also like to add I think we have a great bunch of guys playing and I don't want anyone to quit over 5 credits or what we do as a group at the end of the year party. So lets try to solve this at the rules meeting. 31 May is fine with me. GO MURDERERS

It's probably true that those of us who favor a raise have different ideas on views about the year-end party.
Personally I'd like, AS A GROUP and within reasonable hours, to designate concrete dinner and sports venues, plus a clear-cut mode of transportation. I'm not in favor of using a limo for some kind of wild, extensive bar-hopping adventure and a late-night nudie establisment visit like an aimless bunch of unmarried 25 year olds.
I'm happily married and don't need that crap anymore. I did it for over 20-plus years and it's passed me up. I have no more oats like that to sew. No offense, but I'd rather get tents, go camping, and relax by a fire with my wonderful SEL FAMILY.
I repeat, SEL FAMILY.

I would like to address a couple of issues regarding the year end party. I do not now,or have ever thought that we have to have a "large" party. The only reason I am for adding to the party fund is to have the funds in place in the event someone presents an idea that the members like, but are not sure we can afford. I am willing to have any size party that we can do as a group. The other thing I would like to mention is the "limo" discussion. Some members of our league have come to associate the word limo with bar hopping, cruising, joy riding, etc. That was not at all what was intended. A while back, the Red Tide came forward with the idea of a limo. He says he knows a driver that owns his limo, who has said that he would give the league a cut rate price for his services for an evening. If the price ends up being comparable to renting a van and hiring a driver, then I think we have to consider it as an option. I will admit that I am much more comfortable having a professional driver in charge of delivering us from place to place, wherever that may be. I am not in favor of exhausting our entire budget on transportation, but from what I've been told, this sounds like an alternative that we might be able to afford. As always, I appreciate any feedback from my fellow members. I value your opinions and always look forward to discussing issues with you.

I'm already excited about the possibilities, but we need the raise first. I also ask that whoever is involved in the planning be joyously positive about it. I don't believe we have to spend every dime of it. The plan must be worthwhile and involve a nice dinner and at least one other fun activity. I'm also all for starting earlier in the day like early afternoon or even late morning.

It also doesn't have to be in January either. Any time through March is good. It would open up other options. The only down side of this is the hardware winners getting their wares later. But I'm okay with that personally.
