We haven't yet voted to allow for the formation of committees, much less how many would be on them and also what their responsibilities are. It's best to hold off further talk on the year end party and stay on the previous committee thread.

After talking with the Bulls, he voiced a definite concern which I hope other owners will also realize and understand.
I believe most agree that if the Redtide can get us a limo for $40 per hour, it'd be a good deal. If we had it for 10 hours, the cost would be $400 plus a tip to be added at the end. That is about as high as I'd ever care to pay overall for a limo.
The Bulls were rightly concerned to ask, "What if it goes up to $50 an hour the following year and some say it's only $10 more and we can afford that?" Before you know it, five years latter the transportation cost could be $1,000. We don't need the luxury of a limo at that price. It's a slippery slope I'd personally like to avoid.

I'm not even sure we need to use limo time picking up everyone. Like this past year, each of us can get a ride to the initial meeting place.

I want to make one point clear-- the price of everything in our lives is continually going to rise. Gas, food, entertainment, and EVERYTHING else is just not going to stay at the current prices. If we start taking funds from the prize credits, we will have to take more and more each year to compensate for the rise of inflation. Maybe we'll only need $100 this year, then $250 the year after and $400 the year after that. When will it end? After all the prize credits are used up, where do we go from there? This is a temporary solution that will have to be resolved at some point. No one in the league has heard me advocate a dues increase in many years, and I do not take this stance lightly. I am sensitive to the fact that everyone is not in the same financial situation, and as I've stated in an earlier post, I will personally do what I can to reduce any hardship a dues increase might cause any member. I understand the concerns some people have that a dues increase could happen again the next year and every year, but it's been seven years since the last increase and I believe it will be several years before we have discuss it again. I want to reinterate that the prize credits in our league have not changed a penny from what they were 16 years ago, and I have no problem with that, but when you factor in the things we do now that we didn't do back then, as well as inflation, it's obvious that more revenue is needed. The only other option is to continually cut back on the things we do each year to match the rising costs. This will lead to us being able to do less and less and then eventually, nothing. Things such as where we go on our party night, and if we want to rent a limo are things we can all discuss and compromise on, and on top of that, I am not advocating a large party. But it makes sense to me to have enough party credits available to do whatever we, as a league, decide to do, and if we decide to do something that does not require all of our party credits, then the remainder will be divided equally to all members to take home. Where is the down side? I respectfully ask that anyone wanting to discuss this issue can call me anytime.
Thank You,
Rebels

Ratz,
It's great to hear from you. I'm glad to hear you are still in. I've been called many things in my life, but a liar or fabricator of the truth I am NOT. Nor am I remotely accusing you of calling me such. Nor am I in the habit of saying something I don't mean.
In my 6 years, I've not asked for a dues raise and didn't intend to until I saw the limitations placed upon our options while trying to plan the last party night. Couple that with the fact the Rebels aren't driving anymore, and the facts exist that there are problems. I've seen the money of it, and the numbers don't lie.
In one of my many posts, I called the limo a slippery slope. I'm not a big fan of the limo. You're crazy, or are listening to crazy talk, if you for one second believe I intend to call for dues raises year after year.
Remember, I'm just one person, thus one vote.

LET ME BE ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY CLEAR. I've echoed this in previous posts LONG AGO.
I'll vote for a dues raise to cover more enjoyable activities. Like the owners who oppose a raise for different reasons, I'm beginning to think dues raise activists have hidden motives besides my fun-driven wishes. Am I wrong?
I'll be honest, these are my own thoughts.
Part of me feels this vote is for a long-term limo raise only. I'M SO FAR FROM ALL THAT. At the same time, I'm not oblivious to transportation costs.
WHERE'S THE CREDITS GOING?
Your humble servant, The Tigers

I'm liking the idea more of renting a van and getting a non-drinker to drive with the understanding he or she is a driver only and will not participate in any functions. They'll be paid to just sit in the van. He can fast food it along the way.
Bulls, Is it possible to get the work van, furnish it, get a non-drinker to drive it, and thus be able to save credits in order to do many things that day?

I don't know. Should others have them, that's why they're hidden. It's also what covert aims are all about.

WHERE'S THE CREDITS GOING? Your humble servant, The Tigers Where's the credits going?. No different than last year. We all decide in a very peaceful and diplomatic way how the money should be spent. Just the thought of having this debate on a yearly basis is making me all warm and league like inside. Each member is entitled and shall voice their concerns on how it should be spent. Easy really. The more adamant you declare your idea is the best the greater your odds of success. I am sure we will continue to display the normal amount of restraint when hearing the ideas of others. I know how everyone loves to hear me pontificate.
